Is There An E-Cigarette Age Limit?

An electronic cigarette age limit exists as per a ruling in late 2010 that granted the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to regulate electronic cigarettes like tobacco products. Conventional cigarettes can only be purchased by men and women who are at least 18 years of age or older. As result, e-cigarettes cannot be purchased by minors.

The Bottom Line

So in general, don’t expect to buy one if you’re still a teen. No reputable retailer will sell you one, point blank. That doesn’t mean you can’t find somebody to buy you one.

The Alternative

If you’re under 18, then you might want to consider just quitting smoking altogether. I started at the age of 16 and smoked for 14 years.  Do you really want to end up like me?

Parental Assistance

Worse case scenario, you could admit to your parents that you have a smoking problem and convince them to buy you an electronic cigarette, though I still think you should quit.

If, on the other hand, you’re just a bored teen looking for something cool to do, then stop now. These devices weren’t constructed for entertainment purposes; they were devised to help addicts.

Your best bet is to write up a great speech for your parents about the benefits of giving up tobacco cigarettes for electronic cigarettes. Explain to them the numerous benefits of quitting: no lung cancer, improved stamina, better health, zero bad odors and no yellow teeth. If possible, speak to your doctor beforehand to get his approval, as it’ll help.
